Sand King Pump Station

UNDERGROUND
Ora Banda Mining
Sand King Mine Site, WA

Greenlands was contracted to design, supply, and install the primary portal pump station for the Sand King Underground Mine, delivering a complete solution tailored to the site’s operational and environmental requirements.

This was the first primary pump station established at the mine and was located within the open pit, immediately outside the portal. Sump pumps within the underground mine, along with subsequent primary pump stations installed underground, deliver water to the portal pump station. From there, the portal pump station transfers the water to the Palmerston Pit for settling. A pontoon pump installed in the Palmerston Pit then pumps the settled water back to the Sand King mine water supply tanks. The project also included the supply and installation of the Palmerston Pit pontoon pump together with all associated pipelines between the Sand King mine, the Palmerston Pit, and the Sand King mine water supply tanks.
